Pledge your support
Tarmac intends to dispose of the lakes and the community needs to raise money to buy them. A pledge is a promise, not a payment. You will only be asked to give if the bid succeeds.
13%pledged
£86,000 of £650,000 guide price
Non-binding pledges received so far from residents and supporters. Updated 23 September 2026.
Why pledge?
Pledges show that the community is committed to saving the lakes for community use. They let us show Tarmac, the Parish Council, grant funders and other organisations that we are serious about the purchase and have the resources to be taken seriously.
- Non-binding. Nothing is collected now.
- You are only asked for a donation if the bid succeeds.
- If the purchase does not go ahead, your details are deleted.
- Any amount helps. The total matters more than any single pledge.
Prefer paper? Pledge forms are available at the village shop, the Parish Centre and the Grey House. Email a completed form to richard.allen@hemingfordgreyparishcouncil.gov.uk, or hand it in at the village shop.
What happens when the bid is live? If the offer is accepted, pledges will be converted into an online fundraising page and you will be sent a link to give. Nothing will be taken automatically.
I pledge the following sum to help save Marsh Lane Lakes
